Product Overview & Applications
Carded tow is flax tow that has been opened, cleaned and carded. This turns a tangled by-product into a uniform semi-finished product, suitable for spinning, non-woven and a range of industrial applications.
Production process
The tow is first opened and cleaned to remove dust and shives. Carding machines with wire-covered cylinders untangle the fibres and lay them parallel. The fibres leave the card as an even web or sliver, ready for further processing.
