Flax fibre, cut to measure in specific lengths
Product Overview & Applications
Cut flax fibre is clean flax fibre cut to a controlled length. Unlike carded fibre, which is supplied as a web or sliver, cut fibre is loose and free-flowing. This makes it easy to dose and to mix evenly into other materials.
It serves as a reinforcement in composites and bioplastics, building materials, specialty paper and non-wovens.
Production process
We maintain our flax fibres under controlled humidity, giving it the moisture it needs to take a clean cut without splitting or fraying.
Multi-blade rotary cutters then shear the strands to a uniform length, while air sieves and automated grading remove dust and short fragments to calibrate each batch to specification.
